Spring Into Summer

It’s finally warm in New York! We are playing outside with friends after school and heading to the pool at every chance we get.

Chloe is back in swim lessons and loving it. She has become so confident in the water, which is exciting to see (and a huge relief!) Clare is learning water safety and absolutely loves the pool. She jumps in fearlessly and is a star student in her group swim lessons.

Granny and PopPop also came for a visit for Mother’s Day/Granny’s birthday. We always have the best time when they are here. I wish we lived closer, but I feel lucky that we get to have them here (and we get to visit them) as much as we do!

We also visited the Bronx Zoo for the first time! I had also never been and it was so great. We went on a school day to avoid the crowds and ended up seeing so many animals. Favorites were definitely the gorillas and the brown bears. Clare really got a kick out of seeing real bears. She kept calling them “Clare Bears” which was absolutely as cute as it sounds. PopPop had to miss our trip because he wasn’t feeling well unfortunately, but we had a lovely girls day!

This time of year is my absolute favorite. I love being outside and watching the girls run around with bare feet and playing with friends. It makes me nostalgic for my own childhood and it just feels so precious to me. Trying to enjoy each day and soak them up before the cool weather comes back again. Summer is so fleeting! But for now, we’re eating a lot of ice cream, wearing a lot of sunscreen, and having the time of our lives!
