Spring has (almost) sprung!

The days are finally starting to warm up and the world is starting to thaw. I always feel so energized by springs. The flowers are blooming and it feels like there is so much potential! We’ve made it through winter – let’s party!

We’ve started to spend more time outside, going on walks and, when warm enough, dining al fresco. Chloe is still enamored with airplanes, so she is very content to sit on the deck with some dinner and look up in the sky at the faint sound of aircraft overhead. And, of course, Sophie is always there for clean-up!

Our friends, Kerrie & Doug, recently welcomed their second into the world, a little girl named Ava. So, we’ve gone over to visit a few times so Chloe and Leo can play together. And so that I can get my fill of baby snuggles.

I know that you can’t force friendship upon children, but these two seem to enjoy each other, which is both adorable and incredibly convenient given how much we love Leo’s parents!

I can’t believe that Chloe is going to be 2 years old in less than 2 months! She is definitely starting to test boundaries and experience those intense toddler emotions, but overall, this age is so fun. It’s wild how much she knows and understands. She loves music and will start to dance whenever she hears a tune she likes. She also often sings herself to sleep at night, which I hope never ends. I still very much see her as my baby, but she really is becoming a little girl. I took this photo recently and was struck by how big she looks!

It’s such a strange feeling to be sad that she is getting big but also excited to watch her grow. But I guess that is the core struggle of parenthood!

  1. It’s going by so fast. I wish time would slow down.
