To no one’s surprise, I haven’t updated this thing since Clare was born. Needless to say, my hands have been quite full with these two beautiful girls. That being said, the transition has continued to go really well. I could, of course, credit myself and Rob with being amazing parents, but really, I think we just lucked out with incredibly good babies.
Clare has been a dream child. She eats well, sleeps well, and is generally just happy to be included. After a couple of weeks, we got photos done of the girls to capture those sweet early days of sisterhood and I couldn’t be more obsessed.

Looking back on these photos, she already looks so different at almost three months! She gives us the biggest smiles and has even started to coo and “chat” with us, which is quite adorable. She is still a bit overwhelmed by her big sister who likes to get very close and give her hugs and kisses, but I suppose she will just have to get used to that.

Our biggest adventure the past couple of months has been a trip to Texas that I took Chloe and Clare on….solo. Rob thought I was insane, and perhaps I was! However, I needed a change of scenery and the Texas family was very eager to meet our Clare Bear. So, off we went!

The girls both did great on the flight, boosting my parenting confidence to 110%. Granny and PopPop were, of course, so excited to see us and to cuddle baby Clare who had already grown so much since they had seen her last. We also got to see our cousins, which was so sweet. Every time we visit Texas, I am reminded of how much I love and miss my dad’s side of the family and how much I wish we lived closer together. Particularly when I see Chloe and Hazel play together. They are about 5 years apart in age, but those girls love each other so much and didn’t leave each other’s sides the entire time.

We came back to New York just in time to celebrate Chloe’s third birthday. I think I will dedicate a separate post to my big girl, but we threw our girl a Frozen-themed birthday party and to say she was obsessed would be the understatement of the year. We invited “Anna” and “Elsa” to come and sing songs, crown Chloe princess for the day, and read stories to her and her friends. Despite it being 95 degrees, everyone had a great time and Chloe in particular was on cloud nine. I’d say mom and dad hit it out of the park.

So far, we are having a pretty great summer and soaking up every sweet moment with our babies.
