I can’t believe summer is already over. I am writing this with the warm sun streaming through my window, but fall is around the corner and we just tried on Chloe’s Halloween costume to make sure it fits.
August was a bit of a whilrwind. I was gone for a couple of work trips, but we still managed to squeeze in a lot of fun!
One of the big updates is that Chloe is doing really well with her “big girl” bed. She is learning to stay in bed vs playing with her toys. As long as she has anywhere from 5-20 books in her bed, she is usually content and will go to sleep on her own! I’m really proud of how well she’s done with this transition. I was truly dreading it, but as with most things in life, Chloe has taken it in stride and surpassed our expectations.

We were outside a lot in August – visiting with friends, playing in the water, and eating a lot of ice cream!

We also had a visit from Aunt Karen and Aunt Gail! To no one’s surprise, Chloe quickly remembered them both and spent no time getting them wrapped around her little finger.

I can’t believe summer is already at an end! Living in the northeast, it feels like it takes forever for the heat to kick in and for us to really start to take advantage of summer activities, but with September in full swing, I’m already starting to feel a cooling in the air, signaling the end of the season. Don’t get me wrong, I love fall and look forward to the various fun activities and occasions, but there are few things better than days spent in the backyard, watching Chloe run through a sprinkler in between getting bites of the fresh cantaloupe we bought at the farmer’s market that morning.
