This winter, we’ve had no snow. Like, none. As a Texan, the snow is still novel to me and I thoroughly enjoy a few good snow days throughout the winter. However, this winter has been one for the books – no snow in New York, below freezing temperatures in Texas, and snow on the mountains outside of Los Angeles. Global warming is, in fact, real.
However, nature did decide to give us at least one snow day before winter comes to an end.

It wasn’t much, but it was sled-worthy. So, I decided to take Chloe to the park so that we could try to sled down some of the small hills there. Usually, she is a fan of the snow and enjoys the sled, but on this particular day, she was NOT.

Toddler life is interesting. Some days, Chloe loves a particular thing, and the very next day, she couldn’t care less about it or, perhaps, even hates it. Definitely keeps me on my toes!
However, perhaps the biggest highlight of this week was that we all stayed healthy. The ups and downs of illnesses so far this year have put us (read: me) through the ringer. I hesitate to even write this down as if I’m testing the universe, but we’ve gotten Covid, so I think we are good for the rest of the “sick season”. There are plenty of other illnesses that can come our way, but none derails our plans/life quite like Covid, so I’m optimistic that we are done with that (for now).
Despite her dislike for snow this year, Chloe has been such a delight lately. She seems to growing by leaps and bounds and is asserting her independence. She wants to do everything on her own, and is surprising us daily with new words or stringing those words together to share a complete thought. The latest is “no like that” which is honestly very helpful. I think it also helps with her frustration when she can effectively tell me what she is thinking. Now, I won’t give her too much credit – half the time I have no idea what she is saying – but she is getting better at communication each day. My little chatterbox! Wonder where she gets it from…
