…for everyone to be sick! Or, more specifically, for me and Rob to be sick! This week, I tested positive for strep throat and he tested positive for Covid. We have been trying to quarantine from each other because, yes, you can have both illnesses at the same time, as well as trying to keep Chloe well. She has a runny nose, but that’s par for the course during the winter.
We believe the culprit to be a 1-year-old’s birthday party we attended this past weekend. The house was packed with small children and adults who were attempting to herd those children, though mostly unsuccessfully (evidence below).

But also I love watching Chloe play with other kiddos her age. Sweet Bryn down in front was the birthday girl and is one of Chloe’s favorite people, based solely on the fact that Bryn is smaller than her and is therefore a “baby”. We are eternally grateful to Bryn who allows Chloe to pet her and touch her endlessly!
I am finally on the mend and going to spend most of the weekend with my girl while Rob gets rest and gears up for a week of single parenting as I head off to California for a work trip. Leaving them is hard, but I also think it’s good practice for everyone involved. And when I get back on Friday, I will re-pack because we head to Miami Saturday morning to visit Rob’s best friend, Jonny, and his family. It’s a bit of a whirlwind, but give that it’s currently 10 degrees outside and the blustery wind is whipping loudly outside my window, a few days in Miami are sounding pretty nice right now!
